Our Approach to Financial Education

At FELA, we bring a thoughtful, consultative approach to every financial education initiative in which we are engaged. Our strategic approach helps to inform the design, development, and implementation of financial education programs that are relevant to and aligned with the organizational objectives of our partners and clients.To drive value for our partners, we leverage a robust online financial education application that allows us to evaluate and assess the needs, interests, and goals of each participant or user group. This approach is built on four pillars of success: evaluation, education, motivation, and connection. 

  • Evaluation. Throughout the online experience, we have integrated a range of evaluative and assessment tools that enable us to:
  1. Develop robust user profiles and aggregate that information for larger groups.
  2. Identify specific user interests, needs, and goals.
  3. Inform the development and delivery of targeted information based on known needs.
  4. Identifies opportunities for real time program improvements.
  • Education. An effective educational model is more than just content and information. FELA delivers measurable outcomes and results:
  1. Goal based learning in topics that are relevant to a users needs, interests, and goals.
  2. Multimedia format addresses the varied learning styles and preferences of participants.
  3. Content is linked to tasks, activities, and tools & resources.
  4. Online resources enhance the capabilities and effectiveness of our community based partners who can deliver high impact workshops and seminars.
  5. Education serves as the gatekeeper between educated consumers and financial products and services.
  • Motivation.  FELA encourages individuals to learn about personal finance, develop their financial capability, and work towards their financial security.
  1. Provides incentives through a points based rewards system that are relevant to the user.
  2. Engages partners by allowing them to showcase products and services to motivated, educated, and goal oriented consumers.
  • Connection.  Financial education content and instruction needs to be linked to the products and services that will help individuals achieve their financial goals. Information alone is not sufficient.
  1. FELA helps to connect users with the partners and services providers who can help each individual take action and move towards their goals.
  2. Partners benefit by engaging with highly motivated, educated, and goal oriented consumers.
